Parrot CTFs offers in the browser hacking vms, that allow you to connect directly to our networks with a cloud based virtual machine that you can use with pre-installed tools.

We have partnered with AthenaOS for our Custom Cloud Hacking VMs. The prerequisite to using this is you will need to know Linux. If you do not, then we have a Getting to know your shell course.

Starting your Machine

To start your machine, you can click the start button. It will take a bit of time to get a VM prepared for you in the Parrot CTFs Cloud Environment.

The average estimated wait time is about 6 minutes. If it takes longer than the full 10-minute count down, then click the "Stop Instance" button and try again. Once a Hacking VM is ready for you will see the "Open Desktop" button.

If you click that button the Hacking VM will appear.

Using The tools

You can search available tools in the search bar. Alternatively, you can open up a terminal and use your tools like any other Virtual Machine.

Stopping your Hacking VM

When you are done with your Hacking VM, you can click the stop button and it will shut down. You can also simply reboot your machine as well.
